Producer who accused Fox News anchor Ed Henry of rape says she is cyber bullied by trolls who accused her of being 'bought off by the Biden campaign' and making it all up
A former Fox News producer who accused ousted network host Ed Henry of rape has penned an open letter describing how she is cyber bullied over the allegations by people who claim she made them up to try to thwart the election.
Jennifer Eckhart accused Henry of raping her in a lawsuit in July, after he'd been fired by the network following an internal investigation.
The pair had had a relationship which she says he coerced her in to and he claims was consensual. She alleged he raped her in one encounter in 2017 - a claim he denied.
The lawsuit included screenshots of graphic WhatsApp messages that had been exchanged between the pair.
Another woman who signed on to the lawsuit with her made sexual harassment claims against Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity.
Former Fox Business producer Jennifer Eckhart filed a federal lawsuit claiming Ed Henry had raped her in 2017. The lawsuit was filed in July and has not yet been resolved
The complaint includes a string of WhatsApp messages that Henry allegedly sent to Eckhart in which he calls her his 'little w***e' and refers to their relationship in disturbingly graphic terms
'Good long session last time. Left you bruised batter dazed sated begging for more,' he wrote in one message. Another states: 'When u r owned u don't get a choice.'
Henry, who has been married since 2010, was fired by the network before the lawsuit was lodged, as the result of an internal investigation.
It has since been claimed that his alleged sexual misconduct was an open secret in the workplace. Fox says it never received complaints from women about him.
The lawsuit is still ongoing, but Eckhart on Monday penned an open letter on Thrive Global to describe how she had been attacked online for airing her claims.
'I cannot tell you how many times those words have appeared in my Twitter mentions or in my Instagram inbox over the last few months since I came forward as a victim of sexual assault. Before I am accused of self-gloating, allow me to clarify: I do not feel brave.
'Nothing about coming forward as a victim of sexual assault feels brave. It feels scary, isolating, and causes you to relive your trauma over and over again, regardless of “how many years ago” it happened.
'The flashbacks of your assault do not make you feel brave.
'The PTSD, anxiety and sleepless nights you experience as a result of coming forward do not make you feel brave.
'Instead, you often feel trapped, publicly violated, hopeless, and maybe even suicidal,' she said.
Henry has been married to his wife Shirley since 2010 and has two children from a previous marriage. His lawyer denied the allegations made by Eckhart in her lawsuit
She shared images of messages she'd received on Instagram of people accusing her of lying.
' Instagram user suggested that I was, "bought off by the Biden campaign" and insinuated that rape accusations are fake in 2020,' she wrote.
Another, she said, claimed she was a 'paid Democratic operative trying to sway the upcoming Presidential election.'
The lawsuit includes Eckhart's claims that Henry allegedly handcuffed her and raped her in a hotel room in 2017 after trying to coerce her into a sexual relationship.
The complaint includes a string of WhatsApp messages that Henry allegedly sent to Eckhart in which he calls her his 'little w***e' and refers to their relationship in disturbingly graphic terms.
Former on-air guest Cathy Areu, who jointly filed the lawsuit with Eckhart against Fox, claims she was also warned about Henry's alleged behavior. Areu claimed in the lawsuit that Henry sent her 'a slew of wildly inappropriate sexual images and videos' and suggested he would assist her career if she had sex with him
'Good long session last time. Left you bruised batter dazed sated begging for more,' he wrote in one message. Another states: 'When u r owned u don't get a choice.'
Henry's lawyer said at the time the lawsuit was filed that Eckhart 'initiated and completely encouraged a consensual relationship' with the anchor, who has been married to his wife Shirley since 2010 and has two children from a previous marriage.
They claimed he is in possession of evidence that will contradict Eckhart's 'fictional accounts' - including 'graphic photos and other aggressively suggestive communications' that she sent to him.
Henry has not yet released such photos or communications and his lawyer has said they will not do so until the case is in court.
Fox denied ever receiving a sexual harassment complaint from Eckhart about Henry until after she was fired.
'Jennifer Eckhart never reported any sexual harassment or sexual misconduct to HR and did not reveal anything about Ed Henry until after she was terminated on June 12. She was given a warning in February and a performance improvement plan in early March prior to the June termination and neither of the two meetings she had with HR regarding her performance involved raising any sexual harassment or sexual misconduct complaints,' a Fox News spokesperson said.
