Customers of FIVE Coles are put on red alert after supermarkets were visited by shoppers infected with coronavirus

Five Coles supermarkets, two shopping centres and a fruit and vegetable market have been added to the list of high-risk coronavirus locations in Melbourne.

The Department of Health and Human Services updated the list on Sunday night, with details of which supermarkets had been visited by shoppers infected by coronavirus. 

Melburnians have been told to be on red alert for symptoms and to get tested immediately if they develop. 

The high-risk sites include the Coles at Chadstone Shopping Centre after an infected shopper visited the store on October 5 and 6.

Manor Lakes Shopping Centre and the Coles inside are deemed high-risk. Those who visited on October 6  from 11.00am to 12.00pm should monitor for symptoms

There are now 24 active cases linked to the Chadstone Shopping Centre outbreak which has so far infected 33 people, the DHHS said on Sunday. 

'Anyone who visited Chadstone shopping centre between 23 September and 8 October should get tested – if they have even the mildest of symptoms,' the DHHS said in an emailed alert on Sunday afternoon.

Other Coles outlets now deemed high-risk include at Oakleigh, Manor Lakes, Southland and Springvale.

An Aldi supermarket has also been added to the list, in Heidelberg West.  

The supermarket exposures come after The Altona Beach foreshore and pier in Melbourne’s southwest were added to the list on Friday after a case visited while infectious and not wearing a mask.

Victoria recorded 12 new cases and one death of an elderly woman aged in her 80s on Sunday.

Melbourne's all-important rolling 14-day case average dropped to 9.3 on Sunday while regional Victoria's is at 0.4.

On Sunday afternoon Victoria's Department of Health and Human Services updated its high-risk list to include the following:

Coles Westfield Southland, 1239 Nepean Highway, October 2 (4.45-5.15pm)

Coles Oakleigh, Hanover Street & Portman Street, October 2 (10-10.25am)

Coles, Manor Lakes 455 Ballan Road, October 6 (11.00am – 12.00pm)  

Coles Chadstone, October 5-6

Coles, Springvale Shopping Centre, 825 Dandenong Rd, October 3 (11:45am-12:15pm)

Aldi, Heidelberg West, 318 Bell Street, October 5 (5.15 – 5.30pm) 

Waverley Gardens Shopping Centre, 271 Police Rd, October 3 (11:00am-11:30am)

Chester Street Fruit Market, 24-28 Chester Street, October 2 (10.30-10.45am) 

Manor Lakes Central Shopping Centre, October 6 (11.00am – 12.00pm)
