Ex-NBA player banned

Ex-NBA player Renaldo Balkman has been banned from playing basketball in the Philippines after choking his teammate during a game last week. On March 11, Yahoo! News reported that action has been taken against Balkman, who used to play for the Knicks and the Nuggest here in The States.

As previously reported, Balkman got heated when a ref wouldn't hear him out on a play that he believed should have been a foul call. When his teammate Arwind Santos stepped in and tried to calm Balkman down, the two shoved each other a bit. Unexpectedly, Balkman put his two hands around Santos' throat and "choked" him.

The ex-NBA player was banned and also fined $6,100 for his actions. Many people wondered if he would get a suspension and/or a fine, but no one really expected him to get banned from the league. He did apologize to Santos a couple of times on Twitter, but violence cannot be tolerated no matter how "heated" the moment may be.
Renaldo Balkman took to his Twitter account today after finding out that he'd been banned. In a series of tweets he wrote:
"I accept all responsibilities for my actions while playing an intense game, I have truly enjoyed my time here playing in the Philippines. I would like to apologize to Arwind Santos a person who I truly respect and would never intentionally harm, my actions were irresponsible. I respect the Philippine Basketball Association and Petron Blaze Organization, this situation will never happen again...its a lesson learned. I would personally like to thank my fans and teammates who have shown me so much support during this time."
The ex-NBA player banned may or may not join another league. It's unknown if he'd be able to sign given this incident.

The freshman Democrat from California immediately accused her 'abusive' husband Heslep, 36, of trying to humiliate her and leaking the snaps to ruin her political career. But speaking to DailyMail.com about the divorce settlement, Heslep's lawyer said the former congresswoman's claims were 'all smoke and mirrors.'
