Aides to President Joe Biden are crafting an executive order aimed at boosting competition and going after mega corporations that dominate key industries.  The order could come this week, although it has yet to be finalized or presented to the president, Politico reported, an indication that the substance of the order was still being floated.  A White House spokeswoman said no final decision on the president's actions had been made, but pointed to Biden's campaign statements on increasing competition and banning noncompete agreements that restrict actions by employees, as well as 'protecting farmers from abusive practices.' The spread of the Delta Covid variant in Sydney schools has sparked fears the highly contagious strain is more transmissible among children than previous variants. Monday's confirmed cases included two South Coogee Public School students. Four students at the school in the city's east have now tested positive. A frightened resident who lives in a sister building to the collapsed Champlain Towers South has shared photos of a huge crack that appeared in his garage after it crumbled - and says he fears his home could crumble next. Robert Lisman shared the snaps and spoke to local news outlets after spotting the huge chunk of concrete gouged out of the column of nearby Champlain Towers East, where he lives. A rusted metal 'rebar' - used to reinforce concrete used in construction - was visible as a result of the damage. Lisman attended an emergency meeting about the collapse in Surfside, Florida, on Friday night. More than a dozen Conservative donors, peers and former aides have been handed top jobs overseeing Whitehall departments as non-executive directors, it can be revealed today. Ministers are facing growing scrutiny over the roles after Downing Street yesterday admitted Matt Hancock personally appointed Gina Coladangelo – who was revealed as his lover last week – as a NED at the Department of Health. The departmental board members are supposed to be recruited through ‘fair and transparent competition’ and come ‘primarily from the commercial private sector, with experience of managing complex organisations’.
